James Von Ehr IIRobert L. Keiser was Chairman of the Board of Kerr-McGee Corporation from February 26, 1999 until June 1, 1999 when he retired. He became chairman at the merger of Kerr-McGee Corporation and Oryx Energy Company in February 1999.

Keiser was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Oryx Energy Company from December 1, 1994. From 1991 to 1994, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Oryx Energy. From December 1989 to 1991, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Oryx UK Energy Company in London at the founding of the company. From 1988 to December of 1989, he served as vice president of planning and development for Oryx Energy, when it was separated from Sun Company, Inc.

Keiser joined the Sun organization in 1965 as an engineer and served in many capacities until the separation to Oryx Energy.

Keiser was born October 15, 1942, in Mount Olive, Illinois. He earned a BS degree in electrical engineering in 1965 from the University of Missouri at Rolla and attended the 1981 Professional Management Development Program at Harvard University.

  • Board of Directors of Devx Energy, Inc. until December 2001 merger
  • Board of Trustees, University of Missouri at Rolla
  • Society of Petroleum Engineers
  • Dallas Petroleum Club
  • Finance and Building Committee of St. Francis Church in Frisco, Texas
