Dr. Ira A.
Silver is an
independent business and economic
consultant and Visiting Professor of
Economics and Finance at The
University of Dallas. He specializes
in strategic planning,
business/economic forecasting, market
potential estimation, and economic
impact analysis.
He
talks with the detail and intensity
associated with the highly respected
economist that he is but in a language
a typical business person can
understand!
Dr. Silver’s
previous positions include, Assistant
Director of Planning & Analysis
and Chief Economist at JCPenney, where
he directed the corporate planning
process and managed quantitative and
qualitative research on product lines
and market potential. As Chief
Economist, he prepared economic and
business forecasts to support
corporate planning, policy
development, and strategic
decision-making. Dr. Silver
participated in the formulation of
company positions on national economic
issues and represented JCPenney with
outside business groups and government
agencies.
Dr.
Silver has presented his economic
forecast to the SND membership for the
past 13 years, missing only one
meeting. His program has become one of
the most valued and well attended
meetings of the year. Members and
guests from all over the US have come
to rely on Dr. Silver’s presentation
for their own business and personal
economic planning.
Dr. Silver is
frequently interviewed on local and
national radio and TV, speaks before
numerous professional groups, and is
quoted in publications, such as the
Wall Street Journal, the Dallas
Morning News, and Fortune Magazine.
Dr. Silver has a Ph.D. in Economics
from the City University of New York
and currently resides in Plano, Texas. |
