When Richard R.
Frank joined
Lawry's
Restaurants, Inc.
in 1982, he became
the third
generation of his
family to work for
the restaurant
company founded by
his grandfather,
Lawrence L. Frank,
in 1922.
Frank, 49, joined
Lawry's
Restaurants, Inc.
as director of
long-range
planning shortly
after receiving
his MBA from the
Harvard University
Graduate School of
Business. Frank
earned his
undergraduate
degree from Pomona
College in
Claremont, CA, the
institution that
was also attended
by both of his
parents, and two
aunts. During the
two-year period
between his
graduation from
Pomona and his
entering Harvard,
Frank worked for
the management
consulting firm of
McKinsey and
Company, Inc.
A member of the
Lawry's
Restaurants, Inc.
Board of Directors
since 1979, Frank
currently serves
as president and
chief executive
officer. He is
responsible for
the day-to-day
functioning of the
company. He
reports to his
father, Lawry's
Chairman of the
Board, Richard R. Frank.
In addition to
his
responsibilities
at Lawry's, Frank
is an active
community
volunteer. He is
a member of the
Rotary Club of Los
Angeles. He is a
past Chairman of
The Sycamores a
children and
family service
agency, the San
Gabriel Chapter of
the Young
President’s
Organization and
is also a past
Director of the
Harvard Business
School Association
of Southern
California.
He makes his home
in Pasadena,
California and has
three children,
Merin, Taylor and
Carter.
