Allison is the founder and owner
of D Magazine.
He
is also the chairman of People
Newspapers, which he purchased
in 2003. People publishes
Park Cities People, Preston
Hollow People, Lakewood People,
Lake Highlands People, Bent Tree
People, West Plano People, and
Turtle Creek People—all
weekly newspapers.
D
Magazine also publishes D
Home, the D Weddings,
Eating & Drinking, Dallas
Design Book, and the
Dallas Medical Directory, as
well as numerous magazines for
universities, associations, and
businesses.
Allison is a fifth generation
Texan who was born and raised in
Dallas and attended the
University of Texas at Austin.
After graduation, he worked in
the White House and served in
the U.S. Army. He attended SMU’s
Graduate School of Business
where he wrote his business plan
for D Magazine.
He
is the founder of Art &
Antiques magazine in New
York and the former publisher of
William F. Buckley’s National
Review. Allison is the
author of The Bible Designed
to be Read as Living Literature,
That’s in the Bible?, and
Condemned to Repeat It;
Lessons of History For Leaders.
He
is married to the former
Christine Peterson and has four
daughters.
