As President of the Center for Nonprofit Management, Cynthia Nunn leads a nationally recognized management support organization. She provides vision and organizational development to ensure the viability of the agency and to strategically move the mission forward.  Mrs. Nunn returns to the Center for Nonprofit Management after an eleven-year separation.  The Center provides capacity building services for more than 1,300 nonprofit organizations in the North Texas area.  The agency’s mission is to build a stronger community by increasing the performance and impact of nonprofit organizations.

Her immediate past employment was as President/Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Inc. In that role, she was responsible for the leadership and management of a $4 million youth development organization that provides targeted programs to help youth reach their full potential and live as productive citizens.

Prior to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, she served as Executive Director of Bryan’s House, a nationally acclaimed model for pediatric AIDS services and the only agency of its kind in North Texas.  Before accepting the leadership role at Bryan’s House, she was the Director of Management Consulting Services for the Center for Nonprofit Management in Dallas, Texas.  In that position, Mrs. Nunn assisted hundreds of nonprofits in gaining the technical assistance and resources to incorporate and effectively manage and lead their organizations.

Mrs. Nunn has served on numerous boards and advisory committees throughout the metroplex and as a judge and advisor for nonprofit management technical assistance programs.  She was recently elected President of the Association of United Way Agency Executives and has joined the board of the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.

As a devoted community servant, Mrs. Nunn is on the Board of Trustees for Greenhill School in Addison, Texas.  She was named one of 100 Texas Women in 2004,  is currently president of the Dallas Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, serves on the Board of Directors of E.K. Bailey Ministries, Incorporated, and has served Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in many leadership capacities.

Mentoring is another passion for Mrs. Nunn.  She has invested in the lives of upwardly mobile, mid-level female corporate managers through mentoring venues in her church and community. For three years, Mrs. Nunn voluntarily served as a career coach to four professional staff through the Career Assistance Network sponsored by Boys & Girls Clubs of America.  She currently serves as coach to three professional women.

Mrs. Nunn earned a B. A. degree from Wilberforce University in Ohio. She is a 1989 graduate of Leadership Dallas, a 2002-2003 graduate of the Advanced Executive Leadership Training sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America ‘s Leadership Institute at Clemson University, Clemson, SC, and has received significant nonprofit and management training.

Mrs. Nunn is married to Andrew Nunn and shares four children and six grandchildren.
