As President of
the Center for Nonprofit
Management, Cynthia Nunn leads a
nationally
recognized management support
organization. She provides
vision and organizational
development to ensure the
viability of the agency and to
strategically move the mission
forward. Mrs. Nunn returns to
the Center for Nonprofit
Management after an eleven-year
separation. The Center provides
capacity building services for
more than 1,300 nonprofit
organizations in the North Texas
area. The agency’s mission is
to build a stronger community by
increasing the performance and
impact of nonprofit
organizations.
Her immediate
past employment was as
President/Chief Professional
Officer of the Boys & Girls
Clubs of Greater Dallas, Inc. In
that role, she was responsible
for the leadership and
management of a $4 million youth
development organization that
provides targeted programs to
help youth reach their full
potential and live as productive
citizens.
Prior to the Boys
& Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas,
she served as Executive Director
of Bryan’s House, a nationally
acclaimed model for pediatric
AIDS services and the only
agency of its kind in North
Texas. Before accepting the
leadership role at Bryan’s
House, she was the Director of
Management Consulting Services
for the Center for Nonprofit
Management in Dallas, Texas. In
that position, Mrs. Nunn
assisted hundreds of nonprofits
in gaining the technical
assistance and resources to
incorporate and effectively
manage and lead their
organizations.
Mrs. Nunn has
served on numerous boards and
advisory committees throughout
the metroplex and as a judge and
advisor for nonprofit management
technical assistance programs.
She was recently elected
President of the Association of
United Way Agency Executives and
has joined the board of the
United Way of Metropolitan
Dallas.
As a devoted
community servant, Mrs. Nunn is
on the Board of Trustees for
Greenhill School in Addison,
Texas. She was named one of 100
Texas Women in 2004, is
currently president of the
Dallas Chapter of The Links,
Incorporated, serves on the
Board of Directors of E.K.
Bailey Ministries, Incorporated,
and has served Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated in many
leadership capacities.
Mentoring is
another passion for Mrs. Nunn.
She has invested in the lives of
upwardly mobile, mid-level
female corporate managers
through mentoring venues in her
church and community. For three
years, Mrs. Nunn voluntarily
served as a career coach to four
professional staff through the
Career Assistance Network
sponsored by Boys & Girls Clubs
of America. She currently
serves as coach to three
professional women.
Mrs. Nunn earned
a B. A. degree from Wilberforce
University in Ohio. She is a
1989 graduate of Leadership
Dallas, a 2002-2003 graduate of
the Advanced Executive
Leadership Training sponsored by
the Boys & Girls Clubs of
America ‘s Leadership Institute
at Clemson University, Clemson,
SC, and has received significant
nonprofit and management
training.
Mrs. Nunn is
married to Andrew Nunn and
shares four children and six
grandchildren.
