In May 2006 Mr. Casey was appointed by the Director as Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Field Office.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mr. Casey earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University in 1980. He began his career as a police officer in the Houston, Texas, Police Department in 1981, serving as a patrol officer from 1981 to 1984.  He was recognized as “The Police Officer of the Year” for 1983 by the One Hundred Club of Houston. From 1984 to 1986 he served in the Houston Police Department’s Criminal Intelligence Division as an investigator on the Organized Crime Squad.

Mr. Casey was appointed an FBI Special Agent in September 1986 and, following a period of training, was assigned to organized crime and drug investigations in the Phoenix, Arizona, Field Office. In December 1992, he was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent in the Criminal Investigative Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC, where he held program management responsibilities. In April 1995, he was designated a field supervisor in the Chicago, Illinois, Field Office, where he supervised investigations in the violent crime and drug programs. In July 2000, he was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Miami, Florida, Field Office, where he had program management responsibility for the organized crime and drug programs.

In October 2002, Mr. Casey was promoted to the ranks of the Senior Executive Service by the FBI Director and assigned to direct a multi-agency task force in the Counterterrorism Division at FBI Headquarters. In April 2003, he was appointed as the first Section Chief of the FBI’s Intelligence Operations Section, where he was responsible for developing new intelligence processes and capabilities. In July 2004, he was promoted to Deputy Assistant Director in the Directorate of Intelligence, in which capacity he was responsible for development and oversight of the FBI’s intelligence capabilities, policies, and processes. He has also represented the FBI on a number of national Intelligence Community and law enforcement boards and advisory groups.

Mr. Casey was awarded the honor of Distinguished Alumni by Indiana State University and is the recipient of a 2006 Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Executive.

Mr. Casey is married and has two children.
