Ira Silver,
Ph.D. has been in the field
of Business & Economic
Analysis for over 30 years.
Dr. Ira
Silver is an Associate
Professor in Managerial
Economics at TCU’s Neeley
School of Business. He is
also an economic consultant
to business organizations,
such as the National Auto
Auction Association, the G7
Group, and Williamson Dickie.
His recent positions include
Director of the Center for
Business and Economic
Forecasting at the Neeley
School of Business and
member of the Board of
Directors, Audit Committee,
and Compensation Committee
for PMC Commercial Trust, a
national REIT headquartered
in Dallas, TX.
Dr. Silver's
was a Visiting Professor of
Economics and Finance at the
University of Dallas, and
before that, Director of
Business Planning & Analysis
and Chief Economist at the
JCPenney Company for over 20
years.
Before coming to JCPenney,
Dr. Silver was an Assistant
Vice President and Senior
Economist at The Bank of New
York. Dr. Silver has taught
at colleges, such as Baruch
College, Fordham University,
and The University of Texas
at Dallas. He also was
Senior Retail Analyst for
TeleCheck International
where he acted as corporate
spokesperson with Radio, TV,
and print media. Dr. Silver
has appeared before numerous
business and professional
groups, such as BNSF,
American Airlines, Silver
Creek Ventures, The
Richardson Chamber of
Commerce, The Fort Worth
Breakfast Club, and Success
North Dallas. He has been
quoted in publications, such
as
The Wall Street Journal, The
New York Times, the Fort
Worth Star-Telegram, and
Fortune Magazine. Dr.
Silver has a Ph.D. in
Economics from The City
University of New York and
currently resides in Plano,
Texas.
Dr. Silver has presented his
economic forecast to the SND
membership for the past
19 years, missing
only
two meetings.
His program has become one
of the most valued and well
attended meetings of the
