North Dallas are honored to
present the 2008 Dallas
Police Officer of the Year
Award to Detective Paul R.
King.
Detective King has been
protecting and serving the
citizens of Dallas for
nearly 35 years. During his
time on Dallas ’ streets he
has worked in Southwest
Division, Vice, Mounted
Unit, and Crimes Against
Persons as both a Robbery
Detective and in the Sexual
Assault Unit. Several
common themes follow
Detective King throughout
his career:
Professionalism, Compassion,
Excellence.
Detective King has been
commended by families of the
victims he helps for his
deep understanding and
compassion, as well as the
District Attorneys who are
able to get convictions
based on Detective King’s
outstanding investigative
skills and knowledge.
Detective King’s
extraordinary contributions
to our community don’t end
when he clocks out at the
end of a shift. Detective
King volunteers to train
junior detectives,
participates in the Kids and
Cops trading card program
and Santa Cops delivering
gifts to needy families. He
is also a volunteer
fireman. Detective King and
his wife have four
daughters.
